Warm Up Session

Meng Guan called the meeting to order and the icebreaker topic is “why you are here today and not away”.  Some members are back from their holidays, some have rejoined after being absent for a few meetings due to work.  While some have empathetically given their time for appointments, some are here to practice their speech skills through the appointments and the table topics session.

Opening Address

Jamil Suleiman, President, had attended Court on behalf of his company recently and shared with us how he had won his case through his rhetoric approach with the judge and respondent.  The courage for having to stand in front of judges and to put his points across vividly comes with many much practice at toastmasters.   He encourages us to make use of our meetings to practice as much as we can, as we never know when we too have to appear before the court, just like him.

Language evaluation

Julies Tan
, gave us the word of the day and encouraged us to use it in our speeches.  The word is “faze”.  Just as the word is spelled, it is pronounced as f-a-C-e except the alphabet “c” is replaced with “z”.  This is a verb used for expressing a composure or expression of someone who is surprised, put off, agitated, shocked, intimidated, etc.  If the person gives the opposite expression, you can say something “does not faze him or her” or change it into an adjective by saying “he or she was not fazed”.  Alternatively, you can add “un” to the word to become “unfazed” instead.  The word can also be changed into a noun depending on where you put the word on your sentence.  Examples of use are:

  • Verb - The contest does not faze her.
  • Adjective - She was unfazed by his good looks.
  • Noun – the news results are for the unfazed.
Prepared Speeches

We have one prepared speech from the basic manual by:

Panel evaluations

Table-Topics Session

This was conducted by June Soh. There was no central theme to the topics, however they were of “contest standards”. It was a very challenging session and a total of 9 topics were attempted by the participants listed below:

This is one of the very first things you can make when you first get trained as a Blacksmith so it should already be in your list of abilities. Once you've clicked on rough sharpening stone, your character will begin to make it. The third way is to use, sell wow gold [www.gamegoldvip.org] or trade the rough sharpening stone. You can use it by right clicking on the stone in your inventory and then left clicking on the weapon you wish to sharpen. Only weapons wow power leveling [www.wowpowerleveling.me] that have cutting edges can be sharpened by rough sharpening stones. If you don't want to sharpen anything, you can sell your sharpening stone to a merchant or wedding dresses [www.bridalpick.com] at an AH or you can trade with other players. Rough sharpening stones are pretty low level. When it comes to making coarse sharpening stone, there are three ways wow power leveling [www.wowpowerleveling.me] to help you. The first way is to train. You've to be a Blacksmith of a 65 skill and your character has to be level 5 or more to make and use the coarse sharpening stone. The only material you will need in this case is a coarse stone. For every coarse stone that you have in your inventory, you will be able to make a coarse sharpening stone. Your character will not need an anvil, a Blacksmith's hammer or anything other than his/her skills and a coarse stone. To get the coarse stone, you can mine Tin Veins and buy wow gold from vendors or trade with other players.
