Meeting Minutes: 5th Chapter Meeting of Term 2008/09

The 5th Chapter Meeting of the term got off to a most pleasant start with SSA Rony Lim having everyone recount their most memorable holidays. Language Evaluator Ashok Sankaran, CC, CL, then introduced the Word of the Day, "Straight". This was followed by President Teh Yun Ling ,CTM, CL's Opening Address, in which she urged those present to "just do it", and stop waiting for the perfect moment which will never come. Members and guests present were then treated to a special presentation by David Kow, ACB, CL, where he divulged the finer aspects of Language Evaluation.

People �s Association 5th Humorous Speech Challenge Cup

After an afternoon of intense competition, only one emerged victorious at the end, and he is none other than our In-House Humorous Speech Contest Champion, Tony Phee! Congratulations on the victory, you have also done Tiarel Toastmasters Club and Tampines North CC proud.

Area S2 Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contest

Dear Tiarel Toastmasters Club members,

I'm very proud to announce that, the top two prizes (champion and 1st runner up) for both the Area S2 Humorous Speech and Evaluation contests were swept by our club.

Our club's immediate past president, Lee Fung Fung emerged as the champion of the humorous speech contest. Our club's most sexy man, Tony Phee, was the 1st runner up, merely losing to the "chicken wing" story.

Our club's advisor, Richard Sng has also brought back the champion trophy of the evaluation contest. Tony Phee was the 1st runner up.

President's Inaugural Address Term 2008/09

First of all, I would like to thank all club members for giving me and the new EXCO team members the chance to step forward and to serve the club. It was definitely a landslide victory for each of us during the election in Jun 08; because there were no other contestants. This only means that, all club members think we are perfect to be in the EXCO, and not because no one else want to be in the team.
